About IWURI
IWURI (ee-war-ee) is a Yoruba word meaning "to inspire." It's the name we chose because it says exactly what we set out to do - make something that sparks a feeling the moment you see it, smell it or give it to someone you love.
We make bold, design-led candles and wax melts, hand-poured in the Cotswolds from 100% natural coconut and rapeseed wax. No beige. No boring.
The Story
I'm Tammy - founder, maker, and the person who pours every single candle you receive.
I came to candle making later than most. After recovering from breast cancer, hitting fifty and adjusting to a very empty nest, I knew it was time to do something that was entirely mine. A spontaneous candle making course later and I was completely in love with all things wax.
But I didn't want to make candles that looked like every other candle on the shelf. The industry is full of neutral tones, minimalist vessels and safe fragrances. Lovely, yes - but it didn't feel like me.
I wanted IWURI to stand out. To catch your eye before you'd even picked it up. To smell unlike anything else in the room. So I spent six weeks collaborating with an exceptional designer to build a visual world that felt bold, joyful and completely unapologetic - the peacock, the blossom tree, the butterfly, the illustration that people pick up and can't put down.
What we make
Every IWURI candle is hand-poured in our Cotswolds studio using 100% natural coconut and rapeseed wax - vegan friendly, phthalate free and seriously good at filling a room.
Our fragrances aren't chosen lightly. We test up to 30 samples before a single scent makes it into the range. No generic clean linen. No safe vanilla. Just bold, distinctive fragrances that earn their place and stay in the room long after the candle has done its job.

IWURI isn't for everyone - and that's entirely the point.
